We are hosting the World

More than 18,000 participants from 65 nations were marching in at the Opening Ceremony, showing their nation’s colours and taking up their positions in the stadium Birkenwiese, where all tickets have been sold out. The atmosphere among participants and visitors was overwhelming and Vorarlberg is very proud of being the host of the 16th World Gymnaestrada.

Large Group Performances in Bregenz

Groups from 200 up to 1000 gymnasts give incomparable presentation from 200 up to 10,000 spectators in the Casino Stadium im Bregenz – filling up a whole stadium with emotions and athmosphere.

All changes at a glance

Due to bad weather, the Opening Ceremony of the World Gymnaestrada was postponed from Sunday 7th July at 16:00 to Wednesday 10th July at 14:30. “The safety of participants was our number one priority in making this decision,” said Marie-Louise Hinterauer, President of the Organising Committee. Here you find all changes at a glance.

Due to the rescheduled Opening Ceremony, on Wednesday 10th July there will be the following changes to other World Gymnaestrada events:

The Trade Exhibition Centre will be closed on the afternoon of Wednesday 10th July.

Group Performances will take place on Wednesday 10th July between 9:00 – 13:00
The Group Performances scheduled for Wednesday afternoon will be postponed until the morning of Saturday 13th July, from 9:00 onwards. Day cards for Wednesday will thus be valid on Saturday morning. For Group Performances on Saturday morning, half-day tickets can be bought for €10.
The Exhibitors‘ Fair will be open on Wednesday 10th July from 9:00 – 14:00

Performances on Outdoor Stages scheduled for Wednesday 10th July will be postponed until Thursday 11th July and Friday 12th July.
