Performance titleBrazilian Rhythms
The main idea of this workshop is to share other Rhythms and dances from Brazil as Samba is already well known. The dances we select bring cultural aspects from different states and regions from Brazil like Forró, Axé, Frevo, Bumba meu boi and Samba. Some of these dances, like Forró, are present in our choreographies and express our culture and our way to celebrate. Brazilian Rhythms is a workshop for everyone! There’s no specific skills required, apparatus or age limits for the audience! Presenter: Kássia Mitally da Costa Carvalho, Tailan Ewerk Dantas da Silva Background: Kássia is a Gymnastics professor at Federal University of Ceará. She has a master degree in Gymnastics and her topics of interest research are GfA, Northeast Brazil culture and Competitive Gymnastics. She gives classes of Artistics and Rhythm Gymnastics, Gymnastics for All, among other topics related. Tailan is a Gymnastics and Rhythm teacher in one of the most important leisure clubs at Brazil, Social Service of the commerce – SESC-Ceará. He gives classes of GfA and also Rhyhms such as Axé, Forró, Frevo and traditional dances from north and northeast Brazil. He does research about GfA and Brazilian culture.
